Nick Clark named to USILA Scholar All-America Team

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University graduate student Nick Clark (Rye, N.H.) has been selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-America Team. He is one of 70 student-athletes throughout NCAA Divisions I, II, and III honored by the USILA.

Clark - who holds a 3.64 grade point average (GPA) - received his bachelor of arts in finance management in May, 2009 and will receive his master of business administration this summer. A three-year captain, Clark is a four-time The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) All-Academic Team selection.

After missing all but one game in 2009 due to injury, Clark returned to his pre-injury form in 2010 and earned First Team All-TCCC honors for the third time in his career (2007, 2008). He finished second to senior Nate Burns with 72 ground balls and sits No. 2 all-time at SRU with 253. Offensively, he chipped in with five points (3-2-5) and notched a goal and an assist against Wentworth (March 20) and Curry (April 16). Clark gathered a season-high nine ground balls against Roger Williams (April 7).

"We are extremely proud of Nick," said head coach Patrick Cooney. "The entire Salve Regina community joins me in congratulating Nick on receiving Scholar All-American honors. It has been a privilege to coach and mentor Mr. Clark."

Clark was one of four student-athletes named from The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC), joining Eric Hagerty and Brad Lipkvich of Endicott College and TCCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year Matt Vozzolo of New England College. Clark is also one of four student-athletes from a Rhode Island institution on the squad, joining Brown University's Thomas Muldoon, Reade Seligmann, and Jake Westermann.

The Seahawks finished the season 9-8 and suffered a 12-11 defeat to Roger Williams University in TCCC Quarterfinals.
