Fawcett, Kim, Mulera and Szeremley represent Seahawks on All-Conference Teams

BEVERLY, Mass. (Tuesday, March 5, 2024)-- Salve Regina men's ice hockey landed four athletes on 2024 Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Conference Teams. Matthew Fawcett earned a spot on the First-Team All-Conference, Hoon Kim and Johnny Mulera achieved Second-Team All-Conference accolades and Garrett Szeremley attained a place on the Third-Team All-Conference. 

"We are thrilled to announce that Johnny, Hoon, Garrett, and Matt have received well-deserved recognition for their outstanding achievements this year," said head coach Zech Klann. "Their unwavering dedication and commitment, both on and off the ice, have truly exemplified the spirit of the Salve hockey family. We couldn't be prouder of them for receiving these prestigious honors."

Matthew Fawcett joined the Seahawks in 2023 as a graduate transfer. Fawcett led the seahawks and the CCC in goals scored in the 2023-24 season. He appeared in 27 games, scored 16 goals, made 18 assists, scored one shorthand goal, and netted three game winning goals this season. In the Seahawks 3-2 win over Tufts University Fawcett set Salve Regina ahead at 10:06 in the third period, giving the team a win at the Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational. 

Hoon Kim joined the men's ice hockey team in 2021 after competing for the Olds Grizzlys (AJHL). As a defensemen Kim has appeared in 73 games, scored nine goals, made 31 assists and scored two game winning goals during his time as a Seahawk. Kim scored the first goal of the game when the Seahawks beat Curry College, the top CCC seed, in the second round of the 2023-24 postseason tournament. 

Johnny Mulera joins Kim on the Second-Team All-Conference. Mulera has been a member of the men's ice hockey team since entering as a transfer for the 2022-23 season. As a captain Mulera appeared in 28 games, scored 13 goals, made 19 assists and provided three game winning goals this season. Mulera led the CCC in shots with 117 in 2023-24. Mulera scored the game winning goal at 29 seconds into the third period when Salve Regina beat Nichols College 3-2 on January 27. 

Assistant captain Garrett Szeremley has been with the Seahawks since 2020. This year he appeared in 27 games, scored four goals, made 21 assists and scored one game winning goal. Szeremley tied it up at 10:38 in the third period for a crucial 1-1 tie with the University of New England on January 19, 2024.
