Andrew Kurapov found the net with an even strength goal for the Gulls, setting them ahead 1-0. The in-conference rivalry made the game a high-energy, physical contest right from the onset. The Seahawks were called for tripping with 4:37 down, but the team was relentless on the penalty kill and forged ahead. The Seahawks came back when Logan Calder bounced the puck over Gulls' goalie and into the net at 10:29 into the period. Calder was assisted by Walter Baumann and Garrett Szeremley. No further scoring occurred in the remainder of the period and the teams entered period two 1-1.

The Gulls took 30 shots, made 20 saves, won 18 faceoffs and blocked six shots. Both teams were 0-2 on the power play.
  • Period III: Salve Regina almost made it to the net at 19:12 to go and the referee nearly called it a goal, however after review the shot was determined no good. The Gulls were sent to the penalty box for tripping with 15:30 left to play and the Seahawks went on the power play, hoping this opportunity would give them the chance they needed. At 13:11 Salve Regina stopped in front of the Endicott net, the puck bouncing off a Seahawk skate between the posts for a goal. The teams entered overtime 2-2. Walter Baumann (from Parker Mabbett and Matthew Brunton) was the Seahawk the took charge with the goal. However, the Gulls were not done yet, and to tie the game Jackson Sterrett scored a power play goal for Endicott with 10:31 gone in the period. The clock ticked down, sending the teams into overtime at 2-2.
  • OT: Logan Calder, Hoon Kim and Johnny Mulera served as the Salve Regina overtime starters. Endicott took a timeout with 2:55 to go, hoping to conserve some energy with the break in play. However, neither team scored during the five-minute overtime period. The game went down in the record books as a 2-2 tie.
  • SO: In what began as a best out of three shootout, Matthew Fawcett was the first Seahawk to make an attempt, yet it was saved by Atticus Kelley. Gulls' Andrew Kurapov made it into the net initially setting Endicott ahead. Johnny Mulera made the next attempt, also saved by the Gulls.
