Three Seahawks claim spots on all-conference squad

NEWPORT, R.I. - Three members of the Salve Regina University men's ice hockey team have been named to the ECAC Northeast All-Conference squad. All three, Alex Pompeo (Hingham, Mass.), Evan Schultz (Durham, N.H.), and Evan Schmidbauer (San Diego, Calif.) make their second straight all-conference squad.

Alex Pompeo was named a first team defenseman; his first second straight year receiving that honor. Pompeo leads the ECAC Northeast in assists (14) for a defenseman and is tied for first in the conference for points by a defenseman (18).

Schultz was again named a second team forward. Schutlz missed 12 games due to injury but was still able to put up 14 points in the second half of the season, notching six goals and eight assists. 

Schmidbauer, the 2014-15 Rookie of the Year, tied for the team lead with 19 total points. The sophomore match the team high for assists (14) and scored five goals in 23 games played.

The Seahawks (14-10-1, 9-6-1 ECACNE) will host Johnson & Wales this Saturday, February 27 at 3:10 p.m. in the Quaterfinals of the ECAC Northeast Playoffs.
