Men's Ice Hockey #3 - Schmidbauer named ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Year (February 27, 2015)

NEWPORT, R.I. – Evan Schmidbauer (San Diego, Calif.) takes Rookie of the Year honors following a late season burst for the Seahawks. In the team's final seven games, Schmidbauer knocked in five goals and tallied five assists to lead the Seahawks to a 5-1-1 clip and the second seed in the ECAC Northeast Hockey Conference Tournament.

Overall, the California native lit the lamp a total of eight times over 23 games in his debut season. Schmidbauer recorded the first multi-goal game of his career by knocking in a pair of goals in a 2-0 win over Becker College on February 11.

He followed that up with another multi-point effort in a victory over Western New England University on February 19. Against the Golden Bears, he knocked in a goal and registered a pair of helpers. .
