I'M HONORED
  • Junior John Scorcia and sophomore David Chiokadze were named the ECAC Northeast Player and Goalie of the Week for the week ending 2/18.
  • Scorcia posted three points for the Salve Regina men's ice hockey team. Scorcia scored the first two goals of the game before handing out an assist on the first goal of the third period. With the three points, the junior moved into fourth all-time in points at Salve Regina with 77.
  • Posting his second-highest saves total this season, Chiokadze helped the Seahawks to a 6-1 win in the crucial ECAC Northeast contest last week. The sophomore goalie allowed just one goal late in the third on a power play. The .971 save percentage was Chiokadze's highest of the season until his shutout against Nichols Monday night. 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Salve Regina improved to 10-13 on the season with a 1-0 win over Nichols Monday night. 
  • With 4:59 left in the game, sophomore Marc Biggs collected a loose puck in the netrual zone and sent it hard into the top right corner of the net for the game winning goal. 
  • Sophomore David Chiokadze made 30 saves in his first collegiate shutout for his third-straight game with at least 30 saves in the net. 
  • Both teams overcame a combined 46 penalty minutes, not allowing a power play goal.

  • Salve Regina ranks second in the 2013-14 Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Northeast preseason coaches' poll (54 points).
  • The Seahawks finished last year with a 5-7-2 mark in the conference to earn a No. 5 seed.
  • After defeating No. 4 Western New England in the opening round of the conference tournament, the Seahawks went on to upset No. 2 Nichols before falling to No. 1 Wentworth in the conference title game.
