CCC Player of the Week: Mikey Spencer

Spencer set a new program record for points in a single game during the week.

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University senior Mikey Spencer (Abington, Mass.) as its Player of the Week for men's basketball.

CCC Player of the Week - Spencer set a new Seahawks scoring record in a 97-88 win over Roger Williams on Wednesday (Jan. 12), dropping 45 points on 16-for-25 (64 percent) shooting, including six three-pointers. He also had 12 rebounds in the come-from-behind victory, giving him his first double-double of the week. He followed that up with another strong performance in a 79-68 loss to Western New England. He scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in that contest. For the week he averaged 32.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game and shot 55.8 percent (24-for-43) from the floor.

Salve Regina (10-4, 5-2 CCC) returns to action Wednesday, January 19, with a home game versus Suffolk in another CCC matchup at 7:30 p.m.
