NEWPORT, R.I. (November 20, 2021) - Salve Regina University men's basketball shot over 73 percent from the floor in the second half including a program-high six dunks to win going away, 103-76, over visiting Fisher College at the Rodgers Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon. Graduate student Kevin Kelly (Valhalla, N.Y.) became the 41st player in school history to score 1,000 career points and joins teammates Mikey Spencer (Abington, Mass.) - who got there on Tuesday night in win against Coast Guard - and Cameron Collins (Montville, Conn.). The latter two Seahawk men's basketball players are two of three all-time who have reached the milestone in less than three full years in the program.

Kelly's free throws at 7:23 in the first half were his first two points of the game to give him 1,000-point club membership, and Salve Regina a four-point advantage (28-24).

Collins had 12 first-half points to pace Salve Regina to a nine-point lead at the break, 46-37. In the first 20 minutes, the Seahawks shot 46.2 percent while the visiting Falcons made 42.1 percent of their shots (16-of-38). Collins and Declan Walmsley (Franklin, Mass.) both dunked on back-to-back Seahawk possessions at the outset of the second half.

Spencer, Collins, and Walmsley each had layups before Spencer went outside for a 3-pointer at 15:56 and a 59-43 lead. Nine more points in the paint from the Seahawks grew the lead to 22 points, 67-45, at the 13:11 mark.

Five Seahawks finished in double-figure scoring, and two more had nine points apiece. Collins led all players with 30 points (12-of-16 from the floor), and was followed by Spencer (17), Walmsley (13), and Kelly (11) on the scoresheet. Chris Peasley (Plainfield, Conn.) finished with 10 points, two blocked shots, three assists, and four rebounds in under 15 minutes. James Jolly (Kingston, England) led all players with 12 rebounds and added nine points. Clay Brochu (No. Kingstown, R.I.) contributed nine points off the bench and dished out five assists. Kelly added four steals, seven assists while Collins commanded a double-double to include a dozen rebounds.

Four Falcons finished in double-figure scoring led by Goddy Marc (West Orange, N.J.) off the bench with 14 points including four treys. Tanner Hoffman (Scottsdale, Ariz.) added 13 points and Chris Lennear (Sacramento, Calif.) and Johnny Ortiz (Boston, Mass.) both contributed 11 points in the loss.

Salve Regina (3-2) wins its third straight and travels to New London, Conn., on Tuesday to tip-off with the Camels of Connecticut College (7 p.m.). Fisher (0-5) finds its way inside Hellenic College in Brookline, Mass., next Friday afternoon to face Vermont Tech (3 p.m.).
