NEWPORT, R.I. (January 14, 2020) -- Salve Regina University shoots over 50 percent from the floor in the first half en route to defeating visiting Roger Williams University, 65-52, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's basketball action at the Rodgers Recreation Center on Tuesday evening.

The Seahawks (5-9, 2-4 CCC) scored 40 of their 65 points in the paint. The Hawks (10-6, 2-5 CCC) launched nearly half of their 56 field goal attempts from behind the arc (25), but made only four 3-pointers (16.0%).

Salve Regina leads the all-time series, 39-34, and ends Roger Williams' win streak at six.

Three Stars of the Game

  1. Seahawks' junior Kevin Kelly (Valhalla, N.Y.) registered a double-double with 16 points (6-of-12 from the floor) and 13 rebounds. He added three assists, three steals, and a blocked shot.
  2. Seahawks' junior Cameron Collins (Oakdale, Conn.) had a game-high 17 points and added seven rebounds.
  3. Hawks' junior Drew Hart (Cheshire, Conn.) led his team with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Key Stat of the Game
Both teams shot under 55 percent from the free-throw line. Salve Regina dominated on the boards with a dozen more rebounds (43-31).
