CCC Rookie of the Week: Mikey Spencer

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Mikey Spencer (Abington, Mass.) as its Rookie of the Week for men's basketball (Nov. 12-18).

Rookie of the Week - Spencer helped the Seahawks to a 2-1 week, averaging 24.3 points per game while shooting over 53 percent from the floor. He opened the week with 17 points and nine rebounds in a loss to Coast Guard.  He followed that up with a strong performance in the Cave Classic at Bridgewater State. He scored 18 in the opener against the host Bears before dropping 38 against Colby-Sawyer in a 91-82 win.  He made six three-pointers in the game and his 38 points were the most ever by a Salve Regina freshman. He was named the MVP of the tournament.

Salve Regina (2-2) plays at Brown University on Wednesday afternoon (3 p.m.) before breaking for Thanksgiving.
