NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey head coaches have selected Salve Regina University senior forward Amber Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) as the league's Offensive Player of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Gregg Kaye on Tuesday afternoon. Cody also earned first team accolades as a forward while teammate Hannah Filiault (Keene, N.H.) earned a nod to the squad as a second team midfielder.

"For the second season in a row, Amber has been the spark for our offense," head coach Jennifer Foster remarked. "She has not only been a goal scorer but has also created many offensive scoring opportunities for our team. We are fortunate to have a very balanced starting forward line (Amber along with Ashley Cody and Tori Bickel) who have worked well together all season."

Cody leads the league in assists (9) and points (53) while ranking second in goals scored (22). She had six multi-goal games in 2017 including a program record-tying five goals at Gordon College (Oct. 7).

"Hannah is a second year starter as a sophomore and her game experience shows in her consistent play. Her contributions don't always show up in the box score but she is very deserving of this conference recognition."

Filiault has started all 17 games in 2017 and notched an assist in a 5-3 win at Roger Williams University (Sept. 19).

Salve Regina (10-7, 7-5 CCC) earned the No. 3 seed for the CCC Championships and will play its semifinal game at No. 2 Endicott College on Wednesday, November 1 (6 p.m.).
