CCC Offensive Player of the Week: Amber Cody

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University junior Amber Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) as its field hockey offensive player of the week (September 12-18).

Offensive Player of the Week - Cody scored the game-winner in both of Salve Regina's one-goal victories this week. She opened the week on Tuesday (Sept. 13), registering three of the Seahawks four goals in a 4-3 win over Wheaton. She followed that up with a three-point performance (one goal, one assist) in a 3-2 victory against Gordon in CCC play. Overall she scored nine points this week while putting five of her seven shots on-target.

The 2015 CCC Coach of the Year Jennifer Foster is pleased. "Amber has stepped up for us on offense so far this season. She is a scoring threat but also sets up her teammates well in the circle."

Salve Regina (4-1, 1-0 CCC) entertains three opponents this week at Gaudet Field - Tue., Sep. 20 versus Lasell (6 p.m.), Thu., Sep. 22 versus Roger Williams (6 p.m.), and Sat., Sep. 24 versus University of New England (5 p.m.).
