SALVE REGINA VS. ENDICOTT
  • The Seahawks and Gulls split their meetings during the regular season, as Endicott won a 4-2 decision on September 16 at Gaudet Field, while Salve Regina pulled off a 5-4 win at North Field on October 10.
  • Endicott leads the all-time series, 24-7, with the first-ever meeting on October 2, 1993, in Newport.
  • The Gulls have won 15 of the last 17 meetings against Salve Regina.
  • This will be the fifth postseason meeting between the two programs, with Endicott winning three consecutive years (2004-06) in addition to a 2-0 win on October 26, 2001.
  • In 2004, Salve Regina was the top seed and hosted Endicott in Newport.
  • Tonight's winner will advance to the conference championship game on Saturday, and face the winner of the other semifinal (#4 Roger Williams at #1 University of New England).
POSTSEASON HISTORY
  • The Gulls have made the CCC tournament in every season since joining the conference in 1999, with appearances in the conference championship in 10 of 16 seasons. The Gulls won ECAC Championships in 2006 and 2008 and hoisted the conference championship trophy with back-to-back wins in 2011 and 2012 to earn two NCAA first-round appearances. Nine-year head coach Jodi Cipolla has led the Gulls to a 113-69 overall record in her tenure and the team is hungry to avenge a 4-3 double-overtime loss to the University of New England in the 2014 CCC Field Hockey Championship.
  • The Seahawks are making their second straight trip to the CCC semifinals, and first as the second seed. Salve Regina earned the top seed in 2004 before bowing out in the semifinals. This is the seventh semifinal appearance ever by the Seahawks; Salve Regina has never reached a championship final. In 1994, Salve Regina defeated New England College (2-1 on Oct. 28) and Nichols College (1-0 on Oct. 29) to capture the first-ever CCC field hockey invitational. Including the invitational contests, Salve Regina has an 8-13 all-time record in the conference postseason.
