Bio

Gilmartin now enters his tenth season at the helm of the Salve Regina football program, the longest tenured and winningest coach in program history.

  • Gilmartin is the program's all-time winningest coach with a 55-27 record.
  • The Seahawks have made the postseason in five of the last nine seasons under Gilmartin, including two New England Bowl appearances and ECAC Bowl Championships in 2014 and 2015.
  • Gilmartin has coached 92 All-Conference players including 13 major award winners.

  • Prior to Salve Regina
    • Five seasons an assistant coach at Mount Ida College handling the responsibilities of offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, quarterbacks coach, running backs coach, and admissions liaison. He helped lead the team to three consecutive postseason appearances, advancing to the ECFC title game in 2009, as well as the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl in both 2010 and 2011.

    • Quarterbacks/defensive backs coach at Hamilton (Division III) for five years.
    • Coach Gilmartin also spent two seasons at Nipmuc Regional High School where he became the school's all-time winningest head coach.

Gilmartin resides in Portsmouth, RI with his daughter Lainey.
