NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina sophomore corner Phil Terio (Trumbull, Conn.) has been announced as a member of the 2012 Beyond Sports Network (BSN) D3 All-America Team. Terio was named to the Second Team and was one of just seven players from the New England Football Conference (NEFC) to earn a selection.

Terio had a historic season for the Seahawks this year, tying the NCAA Division III records for interceptions returned for touchdowns (4) and total touchdown returns (6) in a single season, while his seven interceptions on the year rank second all-time at Salve Regina. Prior to being selected to the BSN All-America Team, Terio was also named to the D3football.com All-East Region Team, the Division II-III All-New England Team, and the NEFC All-Boyd Division First Team, while also being honored as the NEFC Boyd Division Defensive Player and Return Specialist of the Year.

Most importantly, Terio helped lead the Seahawks to their first Boyd Division title since the year 2000.
