NEWPORT, R.I. (May 31, 2022) - Salve Regina University junior Dominic Perachi (Washington Depot, Conn.) has been named "Pitcher of the Year" by two organizations in their regional awards announcements - D3baseball.com and American Baseball Coaches Association - while Dylan Ketch (Clinton, Conn.), Patrick Maybach (Saunderstown, R.I.), and Andrew Roman (Monson, Mass.) join the Seahawk lefty with all-region recognition.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-America teams will be announced on Thursday, June 2. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced Wednesday, June 22. The 2022 season marks the tenth year that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with more than 1,000 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to D3baseball.com staff and contributors from which three teams in each region were determined.

For each of the ten regions, there is a regional player of the year (a batter), a pitcher of the year, a rookie of the year (must be a freshman) and a coach of the year.

"Dom, Pat, Andrew, and Dylan all had huge years for us and were a major reason behind our success as a baseball club," says Seahawk head coach Eric Cirella '05. "Dom was definitely one of the best pitchers in the country this year. He carried us week after week, and won games against virtually everyone in a loaded CCC. Pat emptied the tank and gave us everything he had which included both wins in our NCAA regional (Lynchburg, Va.). Andrew is one of the premier bullpen arms in all the country -- when he is on, he is as good as anyone. Dylan was a rock behind the plate and as solid as anyone in our lineup -- just a savvy veteran who gives you consistent at bats all the time."

Cirella added: "Pat wrapped up an incredible career with his third all region award and, in the meantime, has rewritten the career record book for pitchers at Salve Regina. He was fun to watch all season long, something I tried to sit back and do as much as possible this year."

After one of the most dominant seasons in the history of the school and possibly the conference, Perachi is the only Seahawk on this list with eligibility remaining, but also remains a viable option for a Major League Baseball club in its annual draft next month.
