CCC Rookie of the Week: Zack Smith

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University freshman Zack Smith (New Canaan, Conn.) as its Rookie of the Week for baseball (April 25-May 1).

Rookie of the Week – Smith hit in all six games for the Seahawks and scored in all but one. Overall he batted .565 with one home run, three doubles, eight runs scored, and six RBI. He had three-hit games against Worcester State on Thursday (April 28) and in game one of the doubleheader against Western New England on Sunday (May 1). The freshman also had two stolen bases this week.

Salve Regina (21-14-1; 10-6 CCC) begins play in the CCC postseason as the No. 4 seed and will travel to No. 3 seed Nichols College on Thursday for a 4 p.m. game.
