Salve Regina baseball (5-5) played seven games in Florida with average temperatures near 75 degrees; that includes a high over 90 and a low just below 40 in the Sunshine State (the latter occurring on the morning clocks moved forward so arriving at the ballpark in darkness and wind chill). Dominic Perachi earned his second straight "Pitcher of the Week" honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and the Seahawks played Rams, Raiders, Cardinals, Lakers, Pride, Huskies, and Lions, oh my!

Salve Regina men's lacrosse (2-3) picked up wins at home (both games at Toppa Field) while playing No. 8 Wesleyan University on the Cardinals' home turf close for three quarters. Earning CCC "Offensive Player of the Week" honors, Stephen McAllister scored seven goals and one assist last week for Salve Regina as the Seahawks went 1-1 in non-conference play. McAllister opened the week with a goal and an assist against Wesleyan on Wednesday (March 16). He then contributed six goals in a comeback victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday (March 19). Four of his six goals in that contest came in the fourth quarter to help secure the win. Seahawks face another prominent NESCAC foe when Trinity College comes to Gaudet Field on Monday evening.

Salve Regina women's lacrosse (3-0) won its first three games of 2022 including a dominating performance against UMass Dartmouth last Wednesday by building a 7-0 lead with goals from Gabriella Von Beren, Nicole Smith (3), Emma Breen, Julia Govoni, and Emma Periera, all in the first quarter. Grace Haesche improved to 3-0 between the pipes while relinquishing duties in the second half to Caroline Watson, Kiely Callahan, and Ellee Kopecky. Both lacrosse programs open their conference slate at home (Gaudet Field) on Saturday against Curry College.

Salve Regina softball (5-2) played six games in their final two days in Florida, winning four of those games while three straight went into extra innings. The Seahawks finally flew south after multiple delays with multiple airlines and multiple airports. Arriving at their Florida "home" base at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, the Seahawks threw their first pitch as the home team less than 13 hours later against the Lasers. Alex Kelly and Chloe Bean comprised a first-year battery tandem (pitcher-catcher) as Salve Regina defeated Lasell, 9-1, in five innings. Katie Ramos provided the biggest hit with a bases-loaded triple in her first collegiate at bat. On Thursday evening, Maddie Capetta capped a come-from-behind victory (trailed 7-0 early) with a walk-off, two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth against the Green Terror of McDaniel College.

Salve Regina men's tennis (0-6) and women's tennis (5-11) flew to Nashville, Tenn., to compete in five matches in four days. The Seahawks opened their spring break trip in 30 degree weather against Christian Brothers and Bethel (TN). Matches followed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, against Tennessee Southern, Shawnee State, and Oakland City. All were first time experiences for all Seahawks and their opponents.

"Week at a Glance" will continue to recap Seahawk teams in action and share link to our composite schedule as any changes are updated as soon as possible.
