MONDAY (Jan. 17)
Seahawk women's basketball (5-6, 4-1 CCC) went 1-1 last week with a thrilling come-from-behind victory at Western New England on Saturday capped by a buzzer-beating basket from sophomore Olivia Martin. Junior captain Morgan Shuey led all players with 20 points. Briana Neary scored 16, Amanda Folan finished with 13, and Ashley Rourke rang in 10 for the Seahawks. Salve Regina has a three-game week tipping off on Monday at 5 p.m. on the road in Biddeford, Maine, against the University of New England. The Nor'easters have won 18 consecutive games in the all-time series and lead the Seahawks, 25-11, since this matchup began in 1990.

Salve Regina men's basketball (9-4, 4-2 CCC) witnessed a record-breaking performance from senior Mikey Spencer in a come-from-behind victory at Roger Williams University on Wednesday. Spencer broke his own single-game scoring record (43 points against Connecticut College on January 28, 2020) with 45 points against the Hawks, 31 coming in the second half after the Seahawks had trailed by as many as 18 points. It marked the fifth straight win for Salve Regina who also got 18 points from Clay Brochu, 17 points from Cameron Collins, and 10 from Chris Peasley. Tonight, the Seahawks have their re-scheduled road game with the Nor'easters (7 p.m.) who have won five of the last six meetings (scoring over 100 points in three of those wins) while taking a 17-15 lead in the all-time series.

WEDNESDAY (Jan. 19)
Seahawk women's basketball hosts Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) newcomer Suffolk University on Wednesday at the Rodgers Recreation Center (5:30 p.m.). The Seahawks and Rams typically met in November in a non-league setting. Suffolk has won the last two meetings including 67-44 on November 20, 2019, in Newport. The all-time series is even at five wins apiece.

Salve Regina men's basketball (7:30 p.m.) and Suffolk are also evenly matched in the all-time series through 26 meetings (13-13). Cameron Collins had a game-high 23 points and Kevin Kelly shared game-high rebounding honors (five) in the most recent meeting (November 23, 2019) that ended with the Seahawks on top, 81-76, in Newport.

FRIDAY (Jan. 21)
Salve Regina women's ice hockey (2-8-1, 1-4-1 CCC) hosts Western New England University at 8 p.m. in the inaugural season for the Golden Bears in the sport. Most recently, the Seahawks battled back from a 2-0 deficit to finish with a 2-2 tie against the University of New England at St. George's on Saturday night. Emma Gotthelf scored to made it a one-goal game at 7:20 of the third. The Seahawks pulled the goalie for the extra attacker in the final minute and Emma Breen scored with eight seconds remaining to force overtime. Madison Jalbert made 35 saves, two in overtime. The Seahawks have had eight different goal scorers (none with more than two) while Maddie Cox leads Salve Regina in points with two goals and two assists.

Salve Regina men's ice hockey (9-4, 7-2 CCC) has won five straight games, but the Seahawks have gone 41 days between games when they drop the puck versus Western New England University on Friday at 7 p.m. Mitch Walinski is tied for Commonwealth Coast Conference lead in scoring (8g, 10a) through 13 games. Nicholas Latinovich ranks 18th in the nation with a .932 save percentage. Salve Regina leads the all-time series with Western New England, 24-11-1. The Seahawks have won four in a row and is 15-2-0 in the last 17 meetings versus the Golden Bears. Last Seahawk win ... 6-0 in Portsmouth (Feb. 23, 2020); last Golden Bear win ... 7-4 In Springfield (January 24, 2019).
