August Preseason Move-In 2021

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University director of athletics Jody Mooradian has announced arrival dates for eight Seahawk teams during August 2021. The department sponsors 20 varsity sports and eight have their primary championship in the fall; women's tennis, which competes in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), has its NCAA championships in the spring.

Salve Regina football, a member of the Commonwealth Coast Football league, arrives on Wed., August 11. All other fall sports with a pre-season compete in the CCC as well.


PRE-ARRIVAL TESTING FOR THE FALL SEMESTER


Students invited to participate in a varsity sport (fall/winter/spring) should complete the necessary sports medicine and sports information requirements.

Items you should bring to pre-season:
  • More socks than you think you need
  • Vaseline® (blister prevention)
  • Comfortable, supportive footwear
  • Water bottle (32 oz.)

IMPORTANT CHECK-IN INFORMATION

  1. Verification of immunization records (for new students). If you are a returning student, you will also be notified at this table of any holds on your account via the business or financial aid offices.
  2. Verification of your 72-hour negative test. Student must show a 72-hour negative test result or proof of COVID-19 within past 90 days. PCR and Rapid antigen tests are acceptable. Home testing kits are not. Should you arrive without negative test results you will be directed to a local site for testing and may need to quarantine until a negative result is received.
  3. Verification of your vaccine status. Students must have either their vaccine card uploaded or exception form on file.
  4. New students will get their ID picture taken and ID activated for access to campus buildings. Returning students will get their IDs re-activated.
  5. Students who will be living on campus (and any of you staying on campus temporarily), will be checked into Residence Life, and will get their room code/key.

  • Temporary rooms – All students residing in temporary rooms will be required to clean the room prior to moving out to their permanent rooms. Any rooms not cleaned to our standard, or any furniture missing from rooms, will delay that student from moving into his/her permanent room.
  • Health records, immunizations, sports medicine paperwork – A complete and up to date health profile and forms must be submitted on SportsWareOnline.
  • The deadlines for all athletic-related medical clearance information are as follows:
    • Sun., August 1 Cross Country | Field Hockey | Football | Soccer | Tennis (w) | Volleyball
    • Wed., September 1 Baseball | Equestrian | Lacrosse | Softball | Sailing | Tennis (m)
    • Fri., October 1 Basketball | Ice Hockey | Track and Field
  • Late submission of paperwork will result in indefinite delays of medical clearance. Student-athletes WILL NOT be eligible to participate until all aspects of the forms are complete and processed. (All medical information for varsity student-athletes should be completed and submitted via SportsWareOnline)
