NEWPORT, R.I. - Seniors Kaitlyn Birrell (Hope, R.I.) and Bobby Ernst (Needham, Mass.) represented the Salve Regina women's and men's soccer teams, respectively, as members of the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Men's and Women's Soccer All-Star Teams, which were announced on Friday morning.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina seniors Jacob Brigandi and Robert Ernst have each been named to the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer All-New England Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Ernst was selected as a First Team midfielder while Brigandi earned a spot as the midfielder on the Second Team.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Sophomore Jake Weinshank (Chapel Hill, N.C.), freshman Jeffrey L'Heureux (Litchfield, N.H.), and sophomore Alec Shuman (Pompton Plains, N.J.) swept the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards after helping to lead the Seahawks to the CCC Championship title this past week. Weinshank was named the CCC Offensive Player of the Week, Shuman was slected as the CCC Defensive Player of the Week, and L'Heureux was honored as the CCC Rookie of the Week.

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University men's soccer team overcame its youth and inexperience and injuries to several key players to capture the 2012 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on its home field. Sophomore forward Jake Weinshank (Chapel Hill, N.C.) scored two first-half goals, with assists from seniors Bobby Ernst (Needham, Mass.) and Patrick Vierengel (Armonk, N.Y.), to lift Salve Regina (16-5-1) over visiting Nichols College (13-8), 2-0, in today's title game.

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina men's soccer team notched three second half goals to earn a 3-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship tournament quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Seahawks improve to 14-5-1 overall, tying the program's all-time record for wins in a season set in 1998 and later matched in 2010, while the loss drops the Lions to 7-9-2 on the year.

NEWPORT, R.I. - For the second consecutive match, the Salve Regina men's soccer team rallied from behind with a pair of second half goals to earn a 2-1 victory, this time defeating Nichols College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest at Brother Reynolds Field on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Seahawks clinch the No.2 seed in the CCC Championship tournament, finishing the regular season with a 13-5-1 overall record, including a 6-3 mark during conference play. With the loss, the Bison slide to 11-7-0 on the season and 5-4-0 in the conference, earning the No.4 seed in the CCC tournament.
