SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Salve Regina University softball set a program record with its 26th win of the season after defeating Springfield College, 7-4, in the opening contest of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament Regional, hosted on Potter Field on Friday afternoon.

NEWPORT, R.I. - No. 1 seed Salve Regina University softball captured its second consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship after downing No. 3 seed Roger Williams University, 3-0, as the league's pitcher of the year, Kelsey Boarman (No. Dighton, Mass.), continued her dominance without allowing an earned run in the postseason.
