NEWPORT, R.I. - In addition to its second straight Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship, and fourth in the last five years, Salve Regina University baseball earned its sixth straight American Baseball Coaches Association's (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.

Seahawks land 119 on Academic All-Conference Team

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University has landed 119 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 2021 Spring Academic All-Conference Team, announced by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

Lyons prevail on Memorial Day

HARTFORD, Conn. (Mon., May 31, 2021) - Playing any college sport on Memorial Day is rare indeed. Salve Regina University baseball just missed extending its season into June with a 7-4 loss to Wheaton College who went on to defeat University of Southern Maine, 2-1, and capture the Hartford Regional to advance to the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

HARTFORD, Conn. (Sat., May 29, 2021) - Salve Regina University sophomore first baseman Tyler Cannoe (Schenectady, N.Y.) broke a 1-1 tie with a bases clearing double in the bottom of the third and the Seahawks held on for a 4-2 win against Johnson & Wales University to eliminate the Wildcats in the NCAA Championships Hartford Regional.

(Fri., May 28, 2021) - Salve Regina University sophomore lefty Dominic Perachi (Washington Depot, Conn.) retired the first nine batters he faced against nationally-ranked University of Southern Maine (#11 - https://d3baseball.com/top25/2021/2021Top25-week-14) while fellow lefties Brandon Grover (Ashland, Mass.) and Sean O'Malley (Darien, Conn.) took care of things at the plate with three hits and two runs batted in apiece.

Errors tip seesaw battle to Lyons

HARTFORD, Conn. (Thu., May 27, 2021) - Wil McCarthy's two-out, two-strike basehit in the sixth gave Salve Regina University baseball its first lead in an NCAA Regional against Wheaton College on Thursday at Murren Family Field at DeBenedetto Stadium on the campus of Trinity College. But the Lyons benefitted in the bottom of the seventh from the fourth error of the game for the Seahawks to go ahead with a 5-4 victory.

NEW LONDON, Conn. (Thursday, May 20, 2021) - Salve Regina University lefty Patrick Maybach (Saunderstown, R.I.) pitched a complete-game three-hitter while striking out six to lead the Seahawks to a 4-1 win over Mitchell College in the opener of a twinbill at Alumni Field.

NEW LONDON, Conn. (Thursday, May 20, 2021) - After seeing their 11-game winning streak come to an end in the opener, Mitchell College looked to get back on track in the nightcap. However, after leaving the bases loaded in the first two innings, the Salve Regina got on the scoreboard first with a pair of runs in the third to jump on top.

Seahawks take 7-1 triumph over Vikings in tune-up for NCAAs

SALEM, Mass. (Wednesday, May 19, 2021) - Salve Regina University baseball scored a 7-1 victory against Salem State University keyed by a four-run third inning and a three-RBI afternoon for graduate student and catcher Dylan Ketch (Clinton, Conn.). Both teams employed seven pitchers in the nine-inning contest as Finn Doherty (Milton, Mass.) earned his first collegiate win (1-1) for the Seahawks while Viking starter Jimmy Burton (Rutland, Mass.) was saddled with the loss.
