NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University has landed 38 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 2013-14 Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team, announced Wednesday, June 4 by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

Varone, Bucci, McCullough, Liguori, Adams, Harden, Kelly, Nelson led Seahawk women's teams in 2013-14.

WALTHAM, Mass. - Top-seeded WPI rallied to defeat Salve Regina University softball, 8-4, in the elimination game of the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championships hosted by Brandeis University.

WALTHAM, Mass. - The lower seeds prevailed in a pair of ECAC Division III New England Softball Tournament semifinal round contests today. In the opener, fourth-seeded Salve Regina knocked off top-seeded WPI, 7-5, on the strength of catcher Genevieve Benoit’s five-RBI performance. In game two, #3 Smith blanked #2 Brandeis, 3-0, to hand Pioneer head coach Kelly O’Connell her 150th career victory.

Seahawks face another must win three day

WALTHAM, Mass.- In the final two games of the afternoon in the ECAC Division III New England Softball Tournament semifinal round #3 Smith College earned a berth into the championship round while #2 Brandeis was eliminated and #1 WPI along with #4 Salve Regina lived to see another day. Brandeis fell to WPI 7-4 while Smith picked up their second straight 3-0 victory over Salve Regina.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University senior outfielder Sara Nelson (Bristol, Conn.) and freshman designated player Nikki Bukovsky (Westport, Conn.) had two-out, two-run doubles in the first and second innings, respectively, as the Seahawks rallied from an early deficit for a 9-6 win over Castleton State College during first-round action of the ECAC New England Softball Championships at Toppa Field.

NEWPORT, R.I. - On a cold and windy afternoon, the second-seeded Salve Regina University softball team (20-15) rode its hot bats and an even hotter pitching performance from sophomore Nicole Parry (Quincy, Mass.) who threw a no-hitter en route to a convincing 10-0 defeat of the third-seeded Curry College (24-16) in the quarterfinal round of the CCC playoffs.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - First-year Salve Regina softball head coach Jessica DePolito has been recognized by her peers as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Coach of the Year, sharing the honor with 20-year head coach Mark Veilleux of Endicott College. The two schools tied for first place in the league's regular-season standings, with the Gulls earning the number one seed on its sweep of fourth-place University of New England.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University softball scored solo runs in each game against Endicott College, but one was enough in Game Two as freshman pitcher Kelsey Boarman (Dighton, Mass.) blanked the visiting Gulls, 1-0, to salvage a split for the Seahawks.
