SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The inaugural 2013-14 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's All-Sports Trophy went to Endicott College while Salve Regina University finished fourth.

The all-sports trophies will be awarded annually to the schools which perform the best across the board in league competition. Points are awarded based on CCC championships and CCC runner-up finishes at the conference tournament followed by the regular season finish of the remaining teams. In each sport, the CCC champion will receive 10 points and the CCC runner-up will receive nine points. The regular season finish will be used to determine points for the remaining teams in each sport from eight points down including all ties. After the total points are calculated, points will then be divided by the number of CCC sports that the school sponsors to arrive at an average score.

Endicott posted the highest total average of points in the conference, 8.88, to claim the inaugural CCC All-Sports Trophy for the women. The Gulls captured championship titles in lacrosse, soccer, softball, and tennis, a runner-up finish in volleyball, and a third-place finish in basketball to take complete ownership of the CCC’s Women’s All-Sports Trophy.

The University of New England posted an average of 7.79 points for second, while Roger Williams University recorded 7.75 points to place third in the 2013-14 women’s trophy race. Salve Regina University claimed fourth with an average of 5.94 points, followed by Western New England University (5.69), Gordon College (5.63), Curry College (4.79), Nichols College (4.50), Wentworth Institute of Technology (3.33), and Eastern Nazarene College (3.25).

This is the first year that the CCC will be awarding all-sports trophies. The final standings were determined on the basis of each school's finish at the championship and the regular season standings in the eight CCC women's sports, which include basketball, cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. The 2013-14 trophy will be presented to the Endicott College Gulls during the fall of 2014.
