Michaela Giblin '02 - a four-year two-sport standout, Giblin holds school records in both field hockey and softball. The school's female athlete of the year in 2001-02, she was a key member of the 1999 softball squad that won the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship. Giblin posted a school-record .495 batting average in 1999 with a then-record 48 hits; her 28 stolen bases that season still stands as a school record. She earned CCC rookie of the year honors. Giblin set the current record for hits in a season (57) as a senior. Her career batting average of .403 and stolen base total of 65 both rank number one in the Seahawk record book. As a field hockey goalie, Giblin ranks number one all-time with 669 career saves. Her .890 save percentage and 14 career shutouts also rank first in the Seahawk record books; Giblin is the first four-year field hockey player inducted in the Salve Regina Athletic Hall of Fame.
