Palmquist tabbed CCC Runner and Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT, R.I. - For the second consecutive time, Salve Regina freshman Aubrey Palmquist (Bristol, Conn.) has been selected as both the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Runner and Rookie of the Week. Palmquist has now compiled four Rookie of the Week honors and a pair of Runner of the Week accolades during her freshman campaign.

Competing against student-athletes from 11 Division I schools, Palmquist finished 40th overall amongst a field of 144 runners this Friday during the CCSU Mini Meet at Stanley Quarter Park. The rookie covered the wet and muddy 3,000 meter course in 11:09, leading the Seahawks to an 11th place finish.

Palmquist will lead Salve Regina into the CCC Championships this Saturday at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass., as the Seahawks look to defend their conference title.
