Palmquist named CCC Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University freshman Aubrey Palmquist (Bristol, Conn.) has been selected as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week. This marks the second time this season that Palmquist has received the honor.

Palmquist finished 41st overall in a field of more than 450 runners at the James Earley Invitational at Westfield State University this past Saturday. She completed the 6,000 meter course in a time of 23:58, leading the Seahawks to a 14th place finish out of 43 schools, ranking second among all CCC member institutions.

Aubrey is having a standout rookie campaign, as this marked the second time she crossed the line as Salve Regina's top finisher, while she has also added three second place results.

Palmquist and the Seahawks will return to action on October 13 at the Western New England Invitational.
