Ryan earns TCCC Rookie of the Week honors

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University freshman Kayley Ryan (Portland, Conn.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Ryan competed in the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational this past weekend in North Dartmouth, Mass. and placed 39th amongst collegiate runners with a time of 19:29 (42nd overall). As a team, the Seahawks placed 11th out of 39 schools.

She becomes the first Seahawk to garner TCCC Women's Cross Country weekly honors since Paige Pallotto was named Runner and Rookie of the Week on October 19, 2009.

The Seahawks return to action on Saturday when they travel to Wenham, Mass. to complete in the POP Crowell Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Gordon College.
