Summary
The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team defeated Curry College 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-18) in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play for their fifth straight victory.

Series and Streaks
The Seahawks own a 8-0 lead in the all-time series. All eight victories have been sweeps.

Three Stars of the Match

  1. Salve Regina freshman Madison Lee (Dover, Fla.) knocked in 11 kills and three service aces.
  2. Salve Regina sophomore Andee Bender (Lebanon, Conn.) had a double-double with a match-high 12 kills and 12 digs.
  3. Salve Regina senior Erin Proctor (Canton, Mass.) had a match-high 35 assists and two service aces.

Key Stat
The Seahawks posted double-digit kills in each set including 17 in the third and final frame.

Turning Point
Facing elimination the Colonels battled the Seahawks in the third set and held a 12-11 lead midway through after a Seahawks error. It was the last time the Colonels led in the match however. Three straight kills, two from Lee and one from Bender gave the Seahawks back the lead for good. The Seahawks would close the third on a 14-6 run to secure the sweep. 

Quick Hits

  • Lexi Pereira (Attleboro, Mass.) and Amanda Wood (Tokyo, Japan) tied for the team-lead in kills for the Colonels with six apiece.
  • Sophomore libero Jordyn Keith (Whitman, Mass.) led the Colonels defense and tied for a match-high with 15 digs.
  • Setter Alexis Bell (Salem, Conn.) handed out 22 assists.
  • Seahawks junior Annie Donehue (Chelmsford, Mass.) swung for a match best .421 with nine kills and three blocks.
  • Cassidy Trabilcy (Phoenix, Ariz.) grabbed 15 digs and struck for five kills and three aces.

Salve Regina (15-7, 3-2 CCC) travels to play Bridgewater on Thursday, October 11 for a non-conference matchup (6 p.m.). Curry (4-12, 0-4 CCC) travels to face Emerson on Thursday as well at 7 p.m.
