NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University volleyball team suffered its second straight 3-1 setback on Friday night, falling to Wesleyan University on the first day of the Trinity Invitational tournament. The Seahawks are now 2-3 on the season, with all five of their decisions ending in a 3-1 score.
After the Seahawks took the opening set, 25-13, and held a 24-18 in the second set.
However, the Cardinals rallied to win the second frame, 27-25 and then took each of the next two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-22.
Salve Regina will complete Trinity Invitational play with two matches on Saturday, facing the host Bantams at 1 p.m. before battling Eastern Connecticut State at 3 p.m.
