Seahawks downed by Judges in season opener

DANBURY, Conn. – The Salve Regina University volleyball team fell to Brandeis University by a score of 3-1 during the first day of competition at the Western Invitational at Western Connecticut State University's Feldman Arena.

Leaders for Salve Ragina were Jennifer Duggan (Merrimack, N.H.) in hitting, Taylor Violet (Tiverton, R.I.) setting, and Megan Clancy (Chelmsford, Mass.) digging.

Statistical leaders for Brandeis were Si-Si Hensley (Fullerton, Calif.) with 14 kills and 16 digs, Yael Einhorn (Mount Laurel, N.J.) with 37 assists, Elsie Bernaiche (Plantsville, Conn.) with 19 digs, Liz Hood (Albuquerque, N.M.) with nine kills, and Maddie Engeler (Sandusky, Ohio) with eight blocks.

Both teams resume play at the Western Invitational during the day on Saturday.
