Tacconi and Weygang race at New England DIII Championships

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Friday, May 3, 2024) -- Freshman Olivia Tacconi and Anna Weygang raced at the New England DIII Championships on Friday as the two Seahawk qualifiers in 2024. 

Tacconi beat the Salve Regina team record in the women's 100-meter dash, which she set at the NEWMAC Championship meet, with a time of 12.63 for 13th place. 

Weygang crossed the line in the women's 5000 meters in 19:16:60 in 21st place. Earlier this season at the Jerry Gravel Invitational she set the school record in 18:36.83. 

Tomorrow, May 4, the Seahawks will complete day two at the New England DIII Championships. The program has two relays entered. The women's 4x100 meters, which will begin at 11:15 a.m., includes the team of Olivia McHughHannah RancourtMadigan Haddock and Olivia Tacconi. The women's 4x800 meters, which is slated for 4:05 p.m., features the group of Avery BracciaAnna WeygangCatherine Minegar and Isabella Hastings
