Tacconi breaks Seahawk record at Trinity Invitiational

HARTFORD, Conn. (Saturday, April 20, 2024) -- Seahawk women's track and field competed at the Trinity Invitational hosted by Trinity College on Saturday and first year Olivia Tacconi broke the school record in the women's 100-meter run.
Olivia Tacconi went 12.89 in the women's 100-meters and came in fourth. Tacconi placed 17th in the women's 200 meters with a time of 27.05. Hannah Rancourt, Madigan Haddock and Sophia Fenaroli also represented the Seahawks in the women's 200 meters.
In the women's 5000 meters Isabella Hastings crossed the line second out of 18 with a time of 18:44.08. Anna Weygang finished in eighth in the women's 1500 meter run with a time of 4:59.63. Avery Braccia ran a personal best in the women's 800 meters in 2:26.63 for a 16th place finish.
The team of Avery Braccia, Catherine Minegar, Ava Dexter and Alannah Burke placed eighth in the women's 4x400 meter relay. The team posted a time of 4:38.95.
On the field side Victoria Bird came in seventh in the women's Javelin with a throw of 29.60 meters. Megan Curran, Kallie Saalfrank and Sydney Dufresne finished in 18th, 19th and 21st. In the women's shot put Kelsey Chiasson saw a seventh-place finish with a throw of 10.71 meters which moves her up to 10th in the NEWMAC.
"We had a total of 16 personal best performances today at Trinity College," said head coach Andrew Furst. "The competition at the meet was some of the best that we have seen all season and the ladies used it to achieve some great marks. It was a great close to our regular season and I can't wait to see what they can do at the NEWMAC Championship next weekend."
