Pallotto shines in 5,000-meter run
DEDHAM, Mass. - Salve Regina University women's track and field team started its spring outdoor season competing against Division I schools at the 2010 Husky Spring Open hosted by Northeastern University at the Solomon Track in Dedham.
Seahawk freshman Paige Pallotto [Westbrook, Conn.] had the best finish of the day for Salve Regina, posting a fifth overall in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:05.41, a school record. She also participated in the 4 x 400-meter relay as the second leg with Antoinette Galdo [Park Ridge, N.J.], Alexis Gallipoli [Branford, Conn.], and Marisa Fiore [Lexington, Mass.].
Freshman Alyssa Desmarais [Burlington, Conn.] threw a personal-best in the discus with a 97'9" throw.
