NEWPORT, R.I. - Nichols College women's tennis improved to 5-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play with a 9-0 victory over Salve Regina University on the Seahawks' campus courts.

Series and Streaks
Salve Regina owns a 15-9 mark in the all-time series, but it was the first 15 meetings that went in the Seahawks' favor since the last nine have been won by the Bison.

Clinching Point
Sophomore Morgan Hiersche (Chicopee, Mass.), inserted into the lineup after doubles, scored a 6-0,6-1 decision at sixth single for the Bison's fifth point.

  • Nichols had a four-year run as CCC regular-season champion (top seed from 2010 through 2013) which included its only tournament championship in 2010, and subsequent appearance in the NCAA Division III Championships.
  • Salve Regina has won more championships (13) than other school in the league.
