NEWPORT, R.I. -- Salve Regina University women's soccer sophomores carried the offense to three goals while freshman keeper Sabrina Lawless (Milford, Conn.) made four saves in a 3-1 for the Seahawks over visiting Wellesley College in NEWMAC action at Reynolds Field on Saturday afternoon. Marissa Perachi (Washington Depot, Conn.), Jessica Galante (Dover, N.H.), and Grace Hudson (Nahant, Mass.) each scored their first goals of the year in the final game of the regular season. Salve Regina (5-7-5, 3-7-1 NEWMAC) and Wellesley (3-7-5, 2-5-4 NEWMAC) both conclude their campaigns out of the conference's postseason picture.
Perachi's goal came in the first half in the 44th minute initiated by a Taylor Barnaby (Portsmouth, R.I.) corner kick and flicked over to Perachi on a header by Sydney Giampapa (Worcester, Mass.). Galante made it a 2-0 Seahawk lead with her free kick in the 76th minute.
The Blue cut their deficit in half when Carrie Huang (Seattle, Wash.) cleaned up a loose ball after a corner kick.
Hudson added the insurance tally when Olivia Tacconi (Waldwick, N.J.) sent a long cross into the box.
