Daniewicz drills her team-leading fifth goal for a 1-0 victory

NEWPORT, R.I. – The Salve Regina University women's soccer team scored a goal in the ninth minute from sophomore Hannah Daniewicz and that held up for a 1-0 shutout against the visiting Lyons of Wheaton College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at Reynolds Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Seahawks improve to 4-6-4 overall and 2-6-0 in league play as freshman keeper Sabrina Lawless made her second straight start and stopped five shots for her first collegiate victory.

All-Time Series: Today was the first official NEWMAC meeting between the two programs and ninth all-time. The Lyons lead the series 6-3-0. Salve Regina's previous two wins came in back-to-back seasons in 1992 and 1993. The teams last met 10 years ago on Reynolds Field.
