Summary
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - The defending Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) champion Roger Williams women's lacrosse team dealt the first loss of the season to Salve Regina University by a 24-2 final Wednesday afternoon in conference play.

The Hawks improve to 15-3 versus Save Regina and have won nine in a row in the series.

  1. Roger Williams senior Nikki Norton (Braintree, Mass.) posted a game-high eight points with four assists and four goals.
  2. Roger Williams junior Lily Cunningham (Melrose, Mass.) had four goals and an assist while winning nine draw controls.
  3. Roger Williams junior Mandy Beck (Old Saybrook, Conn.) posted four goals and two assists.

Turning Point
The game was scoreless for nearly five minutes before the Hawks tallied three quick goals to leap in front 3-0. Nicole Smith (North Attleboro, Mass.) scored on free position immediately the next possessesion to put Salve Regina on the board, but the Hawks would score the next five to close out the quarter for a 8-1 lead. Roger Williams would score 21 unanswered goals before Libby Baldwin (Saugerties, N.Y.) scored for the Seahawks with just 1:22 remaining in the fourth quarter.
