BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team persevered over Salve Regina University Wednesday evening, taking down the Seahawks by a 10-4 margin.

Both teams struggled to get anything going offensively in the first half, as they combined for only three goals over the first 30 minutes of play. Caitlin Murphy (Londonderry, N.H.) tallied the first score at the 26:44 mark. The next goal would not be scored for the next 13 minutes, with Katie Kline (Brookfield, Conn.) tying the game for Salve on a free position shot.

Carly Martin (Scituate, Mass.) regained the lead for RWU with a free position of her own a minute later, but that would be the final score for either team over the rest of the half.

Kaelin Hogan (Bethel, Conn.) jumped out the gate in the second half with three straight goals for RWU over the first eight minutes of play. Erin Gerhard (Scituate, Mass.) stopped the run with a goal of her own before Hogan scored again.

Kline added another Seahawk tally with 16:27 left, but the Hawks rolled off four goals over the next 12 minutes to take a seven-goal lead with just under four and a half to play. Katherine Miele (West Hartford, Conn.) scored the final goal for Salve as the Hawks left with the win.

Hogan finished with six points on five goals and an assist. Martin and Emily Stoeppel (Brookfield, Conn.) each added a goal and two assists. Kimberly Bolk (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made five saves in the win.

Kline scored twice for Salve, while Miele and Gerhard each added a goal. Katie Jones (Derry, N.H.) had 13 saves in the loss.

Roger Williams (11-3, 6-0 CCC) hosts Endicott Saturday in the final home game of the regular season. Salve Regina (3-10, 1-6 CCC) travels to Wentworth Institute of Technology on Saturday.
