WORCESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's ice hockey team tied visiting Salve Regina University 3-3 on Friday evening in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center in Worcester.

SCORING SUMMARY

·         Becker freshman forward Katie Puumala (Framingham, Mass. / Winchendon Prep) got the scoring started just 16 seconds into the game off her eighth career goal, assisted by freshman forward Cassidhe Wozniak (Turners Falls, Mass. / Marlboro Minutemen Lady Flames) as the Hawks went ahead 1-0.

·         Salve Regina freshman defender Maddie Cox (Barrington, R.I. / Barrington) would tie it up at 1-1 with 17:56 to go in the first, assisted by senior forward Mikayla Anderson (University Place, Wash. / Washington Wild) and freshman forward Tori Amaral (Glastonbury, Conn. / Glastonbury). 

·         Then 4:02 into the second period, Puumala gave the Hawks the lead again with her second goal of the contest, this one assisted by Wozniak and sophomore forward Clare Conway (Billerica, Mass. / Billerica Memorial). Becker now lead 2-1.

·         Two minutes later, it would be Conway scoring her team-leading ninth goal of the season, this coming off a power play assisted by Puumala and sophomore defender Kylian Kelly (Shrewsbury, Mass. / Shrewsbury). The Hawks went up 3-1.

·         Salve answered with a power play goal of their own with 12:40 to go in the second, as Cox scored her second goal of the game, this time assisted by Anderson and senior defender Amanda Fantasia (Billerica, Mass. / Billerica Memorial).

·         Just as it seemed as Becker was poised to take it, Salve Regina would tie it up with four seconds left in the third period, as Cox completed her hat trick with assists to sophomore forward Dakota McMahon (Newington, Conn. / Kingswood Oxford) and junior defender Suzi Pearson (York, England / Great Britain U18). 

·         In the extra period, the Hawks outshot the Seahawks 3-0 but were unable to find net.

BETWEEN THE PIPES

·         Becker freshman goaltender Amber Lee (Nashua, N.H. / Northern Cyclones) put up another strong showing between the pipes for the Hawks, tallying 35 stops.

·         Salve Regina sophomore Hailey Martin (Berkley, Mass. / St. George's) finished her night with 44 saves.
