NEWPORT, R.I. - Junior goaltender Colleen Marcik (Madison, Conn.), and senior forwards Danielle Phalon (Stoneham, Mass.) and Kimberly Spring (Kensington, Conn.) have been named captains of the Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team for the 2015-16 season.

Last season Marcik set a new single-season program record with a .927 save percentage, stopping 646 shots while amassing a 15-8-1 record.

Phalon was the team's leading scorer last season with 18 goals and 10 assists. Her 18 goals set a new single season program record.

Spring enters her second season of captaincy after serving in that role with three seniors last season. Spring totaled 12 assists and seven goals, including three game winning goals in 2014-15.

"Spring, Phalon and Marick are all great student athletes. Each one possesses great leadership characteristics and has a great work ethic," said head coach Beth McCann. "Kim returns as a second-year captain and proved last season she is a great leader for our student athletes. Our coaching staff is looking forward to working with Kim, Danielle and Colleen in implementing our team culture and moving our team and program to the next level."
