HENNIKER, N.H.—New England College women's ice hockey was a perfect 4-for-4 on power-plays leading the Pilgrims past the visiting Salve Regina University Seahawks 5-2 Friday afternoon.

With the win the Pilgrims improve to 8-10-6 overall and 5-8-4 in the ECAC East.  The loss drops the Seahawks to 13-10-0 on the season and 9-7-0 in conference play.
NEC struck first as Morgan Braniff (Tustin, Calif.) would take advantage of a Seahawk tripping penalty netting her second power-play goal of the season assisted by Rachel Vigliano (Monroe, N.J.) and Chelsie Boroski (Sterling Heights, Mich.) at the 9:04 mark in the opening period.
Salve Regina found its equalizer just over four minutes later as Michaela Chiuccariello (Winchester, Mass.) would rebound in a shot from Taylor Shepherd (Quincy, Mass.) that was turned away by NEC keeper Lauren Hopps (Green Bay, Wisc.).

The Pilgrims took back the one goal lead 7:23 into the second period as Jamie Tabb (Holland, Mass.) would notch her first goal of the season one-timing in a pass from Kristen Dehm (Milford, Conn.) on an NEC power-play.  NEC would then extend their lead to 3-1 just under two minutes later as Rachel Vigliano (Monroe, N.J.) would come through with the third Pilgrim power-play goal of the afternoon assisted by Kate Kellar (Cheshire, Mass.) and Braniff.

NEC went up 4-1 at the 12:46 mark in the third period as Kristen Dehm (Milford, Conn.) would record her fifth goal of the game putting in a pass from Aubrey Fisher (Syracuse, N.Y.).  Salve Regina would have a quick answer as the Seahawks would get a score thanks the Shelby Johnson (Sterling, Mass.) who would score her fifth goal of the season just under a minute after the Pilgrim score.

NEC's Sam Hippern (Dover, N.H.) gave the Pilgrims some additional breathing room late as she would push in a rebound off a break-away byFisher giving NEC the 5-2 lead with just 3:30 left in regulation.

The Seahawks finished the night with the slight 33-29 advantage in shots.

Hopps picked up the win in net for the Pilgrims finishing with 31 saves.  In net for Salve Regina was Ali Muehlbronner (Glenside, Pa.) who recorded 24 saves on the afternoon.

NEC returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 16 when they close out the regular season at home hosting the College of Holy Cross.  Salve Regina will hit the ice on Saturday as well when they travel to take on Castleton State College.
