Porter named to ECAC Honor Roll

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University freshman ice hockey student-athlete Rachel Porter (Franklin, Mass.) has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's East Honor Roll.

Porter accounted for four of the five goals the Seahawks scored last week. After scoring the lone goal in a loss to Norwich on Friday afternoon, she exploded for three goals in a 5-4 loss at UMass Boston on Saturday afternoon.

On the season, Porter leads the Seahawks with eight assists and 16 points, and her eight goals rank second behind junior Molly Golden (Milton, Mass.) for the team lead (nine). Last week, freshman Samantha Zitzer (River Forest, Ill.) garnered ECAC Honor Roll accolades.

The Seahawks (12-6-3, 9-4-3 ECAC) return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Sacred Heart for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
