DUDLEY, Mass. - Freshman Tara Burke (Londondoerry, N.H.) came off the bench to score a career-best 21 points and lead Salve Regina University women's basketball to a 70-59 victory over Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.

The Seahawks ran their win streak in the series to 11 and moved to 32-13 all-time against Nichols.

1 – Salve Regina freshman Tara Burke (Londonderry, N.H.) - came off the bench to score 21 points (8-of-12 FG) and grab seven rebounds in 23 minutes.
2 – Salve Regina junior Jillian Woodward (Orono, Maine) - scored 17 points in 18 minutes; made seven of her nine field goal attempts.
3 – Nichols junior Taylor Daniels (Dudley, Mass.) - scored a team-high 20 points and pulled down nine rebounds; made four 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

The Seahawks outscored the Bison 44-30 in the paint, led by Burke's 21 and Woodward's 17.

Turning Point
The Seahawks used a 13-1 run from late in the third quarter to midway through the fourth to open up an 18-point lead at 62-44. Meaghan Harden (Sandwich, Mass.) knocked down a three and converted a layup to spark the run.

  • Salve Regina freshman Deanna McCarvell (New London, Conn.) dished out a career-high nine assists to go along with six points and seven rebounds.
