WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Salve Regina University women's basketball (19-10) faced its highest-ranked opponent in the history of the program, No. 8 William Paterson University, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Senior Lindsay Shorey scored a career-high 30 points on 13-of-21 shooting from the floor as the Salve Regina University women’s basketball team earned a 74-48 victory over Western New England University during the semifinal round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship tournament on Thursday night at the Rodgers Recreation Center. The Seahawks are now 18-9 on the season and will host fourth seed Endicott College in the CCC finals this Saturday.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University junior Kaitlyn Birrell, sophomore Marissa Pendergast, and senior Lindsay Shorey have each been selected as members of the 2011-12 All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Team. Pendergast earned All-CCC First Team recognition, while both Birrell and Shorey received Second Team honors. In addition, Birrell was named the CCC Defensive Player of the Year.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Junior Kaitlyn Birrell scored 12 of her game-high 17 points in the second half, while senior Lindsay Shorey set a program record with 14 blocks as the second-seeded Salve Regina University women’s basketball team defeated the seventh seed Curry College, 54-32, during the quarterfinal round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship (CCC) tournament on Tuesday night at the Rodgers Recreation Center. With the win, the Seahawks improve to 17-10 on the season, advancing to the CCC semifinals to host third seed Western New England University (14-12) on Thursday (8 p.m.) at the Rodgers Recreation Center.

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball team closed out the 2011-12 regular season on a high note with a 67-58 victory over Salve Regina University Saturday afternoon. The win for the Hawks snaps a 13-game skid to the Seahawks, giving Roger Williams its first win over Salve Regina since February 2005.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Senior center Lindsay Shorey (Ashland, Mass.) scored 15 of her game-high 20 points in the second half to lead Salve Regina University women's basketball to a 63-42 win over visiting Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action in Newport.

In the first half, Salve Regina enjoyed a 10-0 run and extended its lead to 13 on a steal and layup by freshman Laura Anne Dinan.

The Seahawks improve to 13-8 overall and 10-4 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play, while the Colonels fall to 8-13 overall and 6-8 in CCC action.

Salve Regina began the second half trailing by three (26-23) and eventually by six before rallying for a 63-51 victory over University of New England.

Crough leads comeback for Gulls against Seahawks in OT

BEVERLY, Mass. – Despite never leading during regulation, the Endicott Gulls defeated Salve Regina University 67-61 in overtime on Wednesday night to take over second place from the Seahawks in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women’s basketball standings. Endicott outscored the Seahawks 13-7 in the overtime period to improve to 10-6 on the year (7-2 CCC).
