NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University softball team earned the No. 4 seed and will play No. 5 seed Roger Williams University in the first game of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament at Toppa Field on Thursday, May 2 (2 p.m.).

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SEAHAWKS - SALVE REGINA 8, WENTWORTH 0 - APRIL 27, 2019
- Salve Regina University softball swept a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) doubleheader from Wentworth Institute of Technology, both by 8-0 scores in five and then six innings, on Senior Day for Lindsey Florent (New Bedford, Mass.), Megan Guest (Meriden, Conn.), Holly Kathios (Pelham, N.H.), and Amanda Riley (Barrington, N.H.) at Toppa Field.
- Both Seahawk starting pitchers, sophomores Andi Nelson (Candia, N.H.) and Jaycee Garrigan (Uxbridge, Mass.), went the distance and allowed just one basehit each to the Leopards. Only one Wentworth baserunner reached second base all day.
- Salve Regina (21-18, 9-7 CCC) finishes no worse than in a tie for third with Western New England University. The Leopards (12-19, 4-12 CCC) were eliminated from the posteason with today's sweep.

- The Roger Williams University softball team defeated Nichols College this Sunday in a doubleheader on Senior Day winning the first game 1-0 and the second game 7-4.
- The seniors recognized were Micaela Pohl (Middleboro, Mass.), Amanda Boulter (Wakefield, Mass.), Bella Malvinni (Westerly, R.I.), Hailey Prechtel (Glenmont, N.Y.) and Elizabeth Lombardo (Thomaston, Conn.).
HAWKS HERALDS
- Two Hawks were named to the All-CCC teams on Wednesday - senior Elizabeth Lombardo and sophomore Sydney Provencal (Cumberland, R.I.)
- The Hawks swept a pair from the Seahawks in the regular season, 3-1 and 8-2, on April 18.

- Sophomore Andi Nelson headlined the All-CCC awards for the Seahawks as she earned Pitcher of the Year honors.
- Nelson joined senior shortstop Amanda Riley on the All-CCC first team.
- Three Seahawks were named to the second team - seniors Lindsey Florent (New Bedford, Mass.) and Holly Kathios (Pelham, Mass.), and junior Maddie Machado (Westport, Mass.).
- Jaycee Garrigan (Uxbridge, Mass.) and Nikki Vanelli (Quakertown, Pa.) rounded out the Salve Regina honorees with third team selections.
- Salve Regina went 0-4 against the two teams in its pod (Roger Williams, Endicott).
- Salve Regina won the CCC titles in 2016 and 2017.
WHAT'S UP NEXT
- The victor of today's game will face top seeded Endicott College on Friday, while the loser also returns to Beverly, Mass., on Friday for an elimination round.
