NEWPORT, R.I. (April 22, 2019) -- Salve Regina University softball is a family. Family First!

Our head coach's mother was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. In a show of support, Seahawk softball is having a game on April 23 in which we are playing in honor of her mother. We are currently raising money for Parkinson's research.

Every person diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD) embarks on a unique journey. No standard trajectory or path exists, and for many, this proves to be among the most challenging aspects of the disease.

Five million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease — a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder. In the United States, it is estimated that anywhere from 600,000 to 1 million people or more are living with Parkinson's, and at least 60,000 are diagnosed with the disease each year. This makes PD one of the most common brain diseases, second only to Alzheimer's.

There is no known cure for Parkinson's disease. But through your support of Team Fox, you can help change this.
