Summary
NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University softball won its fifth and sixth straight games with a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) doubleheader sweep of visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology, 10-2 and 9-1, with both games ending in five innings. The Seahawks (13-8, 8-0 CCC) scored three times in the bottom of the fifth of game two to end the contest early.

The Seahawks own a 47-7 mark in the all-time series which includes wins in the last 15 meetings. In the last 14 meetings, Salve Regina has outscored Wentworth, 138-6.

  1. Junior infielder Francesca Galeazzi (Lynn, Mass.) grounded out to the right side her first two trips to the plate tonight before finishing with six hits including a double, three runs batted in, and two stolen bases.
  2. Freshman infielder Allie Gusmano (Orange, Conn.) started at second base in the nightcap and went three-for-three at the plate with a run scored and an RBI.
  3. Senior outfielder Lexi Soucie (No. Easton, Mass.) collected two hits, two runs scored, and swiped a pair of bases.
