NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University softball carries a six-game win streak (4-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference) into its April schedule and senior Jen Cruver (North Haven, Conn.) carried the Seahawks with an outstanding effort as pitcher last week.

Pitcher of the Week - Cruver pitched her team to six straight wins last week. Her team never trailed as she posted an impressive 0.78 ERA which included two complete-game shutouts. Cruver had a 15:7 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and also helped her own cause at the plate with runs batted in in five out of six games, while batting .333 (6-for-18).

Salve Regina (11-7; 4-0 CCC) has six conference games on the slate this week; twinbill against in-state rival Roger Williams on Wednesday at Toppa Field (4 p.m.) followed by weekend doubleheaders at Western New England (Sat.) and at Curry (Sun.).

The Seahawks own the league's best overall record. Cruver tops all CCC pitchers with 111.2 innings pitched (47 more than second-place Kate Lee of Wentworth). Her 15 complete games are six more than Lee's total to lead the conference.
